Your time is important

Running a business takes a lot of time. You can often work from the early hours to late at night – so when it comes to writing your award entry, you need to factor in the time it takes – but trust us, it’s worth it.

First of all, you want to avoid rushing. You want to put your best foot forward so make sure that you are leaving adequate time to gather evidence, write your entry, and get it double, and triple-checked before pressing enter. This means that writing and entering an award on the day isn’t advised (although we’re sure it’s worked for some people.)

Rushing can lead to mistakes or leaving something key out of your submission. Remember, a lot of judges won’t take kindly to errors, and they certainly won’t know something unless you tell them about it, they’re not mind readers.

So, you need to plan. Set aside half an hour to an hour a day to work on it (that’s not much, is it?) and make sure that you focus properly on it. Block out time if you need to, just make sure that for that time you’re concentrating fully on your award entry – it will be time well spent for the good of your business.

And, if you still feel like you don’t have the time – you can always hire an awards writer… we know a few.
