Cherry Trees provides home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities and a meaningful break for their families. Last year, they provided this lifeline to 75 families by providing 1,512 sleepovers and 603 tea or day visits.

They also organise days out, run parent wellbeing days, and provide small but vital financial support through their bursary and welfare funds. This support ensures these families receive the physical, emotional and financial support they need, when they need it.

Providing this lifeline costs £1.3m a year. This is part funded by the local authority but costs, on average, an additional £4.25 per hour of care.

Chris Heffernan, Events and Partnerships Manager at Cherry Trees, told us:

‘We are delighted to have been chosen as the charity partner for the SME Surrey Business Awards for 2023. Our support reaches all parts of Surrey and into the surrounding counties, much like the wonderful organisations who are nominated for a SME Surrey Business Award. We are excited to be a part of this and hope that we can help increase awareness and engagement for all involved.’

This partnership will help the charity raise its profile across Surrey, raising awareness and funds that will help support the children and families who rely on Cherry Trees.
